My Jewel Box: Large Edwardian Diamond Ring

This ring is a testament to how amazing layaway payment plans can be for a collector! It isn’t often that you come across a ring on eBay that makes you stop in your tracks…ok, well maybe that happens far too often for me, which is why I could not afford to buy this gorgeous piece right away. I did the usual lusting–added the ring to my “Watch List” and then continually checking that no one had purchased it. Of course, the next set of events involves some nightmarish day-dreams which had myself picturing someone else buying the ring and feeling deep regret for not taking the plunge. That’s when I decided to email the seller and ask if layaway was available. Luckily, she was incredibly flexible and was willing to break my payments up, even as long as 6 months. The seller, M. Schwartz, has a great selection of antique and estate jewelry up on eBay.

The ring is a gorgeous, show-stopping Edwardian diamond stunner that is set with Old European cut diamonds and a few rose cut diamonds. The three center diamonds that are bezel set have a unique light yellow color which makes the piece even more special. What took the cake was the size of the ring–a 4 1/2 which fit me like a glove. It is now, truly one of my most favorite pieces in my collection.
