The new year has brought some new and exciting segments to Gem Gossip–and this is one of them! My Jewelry Road Trip Map cannot possibly be completed with just me (although quitting my job and traveling the country on a nonstop jewelry adventure would be my ultimate dream!) So I’ve asked a few jewel enthusiasts who share my same passion for antique jewelry to give me a hand!  They are called my Gem Gossip Correspondents!  Alexis had the opportunity to visit Fancy Flea Antiques in Lexington, MA on behalf of Gem Gossip. With hours of fun, jewelry gossip and of course, in true Gem Gossip fashion, leaving the store with a new bauble for her collection, she has come away with some awesome info for Gem Gossip readers.

Take it away, Alexis:

In the beautiful town of Lexington, Massachusetts, resides a bustling antique jewelry shop quaintly named Fancy Flea Antiques.  A hidden gem for over thirty-five years, the curator/owner Marge Perlman has been providing New England and collectors worldwide with fine estate jewelry and antique treasures from bygone eras.

I spent the afternoon perusing their cases with endless trays of cameos, diamonds, and gold jewelry; I held almost every time period, even rare Georgian earrings and pearls.  During my time at Fancy Flea, I enjoyed their gracious style while fielding referrals and chatting with their customers as we shared in the excitement of their new purchases before they left the shop.

Fancy Flea Antiques has a great website, although not everything in their cases can be inventoried online. Nonetheless, they welcome you to stop by and play with their treasures!  They have a very generous layaway plan which makes it easy to collect, as well as a unique trade in or trade up policy if something else should strike your fancy while you are still making payments towards your coveted item.  Contact them for specific details.  I did, I will admit, reserve a beautiful item for myself.

If you can’t travel to Lexington, Massachusetts to visit Fancy Flea in person, give them a call, visit their website, or follow them on Instagram!  Since providing excellent customer service is natural for them, a simple phone call or email will allow you to discover the next great treasure for your jewelry box.

Thank you to Fancy Flea Antiques and Jewelry, I will be back!
