Melissa Joy Manning has a unique, earthy aesthetic which she has been forming since 1997. Being a proud inductee of the CFDA (Council for Fashion Designers of America), she knew her hard work and dedication had been paying off. Melissa designs some gorgeous solitaire, bezel and prong set rings, using the most unusual gemstones. Her trip to Tucson for the gem show was highly inspirational and a great place to find more interesting gems for her creations. I had to catch up with her and check out what she’s been up to!
We are currently preparing up for Couture in Las Vegas and will be premiering over a hundred new one-of-a-kind pieces. In addition to this, I am heading down to Mexico in the next few weeks to finish planning our Labor Day sustainability workshop in Tulum. And, keep an eye out for a yet-to-be-announced collaboration with a major home brand that will feature an MJM capsule collection this holiday season.
I made my first necklace in Montessori school. After trying to be anything other than a designer and failing, I received a degree in Jewelry and Sculpture. Shortly thereafter I started my own company with a thousand dollars and a dream.
Being inducted into the CFDA or Council of Fashion Designers of America. All of the energy, time and tears it took to build my brand were worth it when I was became a peer to some of the best designers in the world.

My Lucifer Vir Honestus pink gold and diamond cuff. And, my own jewelry, of course!
