Dolores Costello was a gorgeous beauty, and received most of her known acting roles during the era of “silent movies.” Upon seeing this huge emerald cut diamond ring on her finger, I think anyone could be anything but silent! I have been more and more intrigued by emerald cuts--especially seeing more and more in person. The stones, whether diamonds or another gemstone, have a unique way of sparkling. Quite different than a round cut, or oval, or pear, or any for that matter.
This ring is Lang Antiques top-notch jewelry item. It is an 8.07 carat emerald cut diamond, with VS-1 clarity and I color, as reported by GIA. Not only is the ring set in platinum, but I love the shield cut diamonds flanking the big center stone. The price? Only $225k!

The Emerald, or "Step" cut is my favorite cut. One reason I like it, the has to be a very clean stone, otherwise the clarity characteristics (flaws) will show. I have a large Amethyst ring in a emerald cut, that is a bit much for wearing everyday, but it is my all time favorite ring, and it is my signature color.

It’s not often that I see women wear this shape. And this makes it all the more special. The emerald cut, for me, is the most glamorous of all the diamond shapes. For my wedding ring, I requested especially for an emerald cut. I’m glad the jewelr back at james allen was accommodating enough to have the james allen diamond wedding ring custom-made into the shape that I wanted.
