Let’s rewind for a minute! Back to 2009 — my blog was a year old and was finally getting some credibility. I wanted to start reaching out to jewelry designers and asking them for interviews as I love reading Q&A segments (still true to this day). My first interview I ever did for Gem Gossip was with Ariel Gordon, who had just launched her jewelry line and I was instantly enamored. I was impressed with her alphabet collection, how each letter was hand carved in wax and how excited she was to get her career in the jewelry industry started.
Now, nearly ten years later, she has built a brand that continues to thrive and has a strong following of stylish females who know they can purchase a piece of Ariel Gordon Jewelry and wear it everyday! These pieces will last a lifetime and more, which is exactly what Ariel wants her jewelry to become: heirloom pieces. Her collection has gone from monogram pieces and classic gold jewels to staples with customization, pops of colorful gemstones and she is starting to add some bold pieces to contrast with her dainty lineup. I love her jewelry because there’s something for everyone and no matter what your jewelry style is, you’ll be drawn to at least one piece that mixes perfectly with what you already have!
Visiting her studio was such a treat because I feel like we’ve been following each other’s journeys since the beginning and to see such a beautiful space in the heart of downtown LA really brings me joy. I also got to see some never-before-seen pieces that are launching TODAY, including some bold yet lightweight hoops (I really need these) and enameled fruit charms (next level adorable). If you love a good nail polish, Ariel has her own line of nail colors too! You can check them out here. And one other thing that I’m absolutely obsessed with is her collab with candle maker Le Feu De L’eau — it is a candle with a 14k gold lucky charm buried inside, so you have to burn the candle all the way down to reveal which of the six lucky charms you have received. My holiday shopping is now complete. 🙂
As you’re browsing the photos above, every piece is by Ariel Gordon Jewelry and is listed on her website for easy shopping. Some of my favorite pieces are the mini rose cut birthstone pendants, the Candy Carousel necklace, Spring ring, the Candy Crush bracelet and the Linked Helium hoops.
Thanks Ariel for having me at your studio and for our career-spanning friendship! Here’s to many more years ahead!
