Growing up with an obsession for jewelry in the late 80s/early 90s had limited resources to learn from (no internet or computer) so when I discovered @qvc in my middle school years, it was everything! I would countdown until their Gem Week & other jewelry shows, and would tune in to hear about gemstones & learn from the show hosts. While most kids had countdowns for important holidays or events, I had countdowns for Gem Week on QVC!
I was amazed when they did a show live from Italy during a special Gold Rush segment and I remember being like “wow that’s where my grandparents are from.” I like how QVC put education first and always made sure to teach their viewers while selling, not just sell. QVC had me fascinated by gemstones, especially Tanzanite. I remember being at the dinner table, telling my family that Tanzanite is mined only in one country and it is quickly being depleted…and that I needed to buy some Tanzanite jewelry ASAP.
A favorite memory of mine was being enamored with a turquoise butterfly ring I saw while watching QVC and getting my mom to call in and buy it for me. At the time I thought when she called to order it, she got to speak directly to the show host, my biggest role model — and that was the neatest thing ever.
Crazy to come full-circle and now have just launched a fine jewelry line, sold exclusively on QVC. The collection launched last week during their special Klondike Gold Rush event, and the buildup & excitement around the first time seeing my pieces live on TV has finally chilled out. I was so excited and buzzing…but also nervous for the initial reveal. I am know feeling grateful and taking some time to fully process everything.
Hearing everyone’s reactions and positive remarks have made this so special. I honestly didn’t think so many of you would reach out and congratulate me, so thank you for that. So many of you purchased a piece from the collection and have told me through DM…and my heart is just soaring! I can’t tell you how much your support means to me. And I’ve gotten some new followers from this launch too, which I didn’t think about happening — but a few of you newbies have reached out and found some connection with my story and I love that!
Some quick things about the collection:
The majority of the pieces have multiple gemstone options for you to choose from—I wanted my favorite gems to be the stars of the show, including malachite, onyx, agate, amethyst, labradorite, lapis, and more. Though it’s difficult to choose, one of my favorite pieces is this double-sided reversible pendant + 18″ chain. The pendant has onyx on one side, and your choice of lapis, labradorite or malachite on the other, so you can switch between gemstones every day, or every hour! The bails of all my pendants are also large enough for you to easily swap out the chain. I also love love love the pendant with two stones — one round and one half circle. This necklace hasn’t left my neck since I announced my launch (it was so hard not to wear it in the meantime). And of course, every pair of earrings in my collection is another favorite — seriously, I cannot choose a favorite and I’m so happy with how everything turned out.
