While many oo’ed ahh’ed at the gowns and hairstyles of the 2012 Emmy Awards, myself, along with several other jewelry connoisseurs were live tweeting about the red carpet jewels. As with most red carpet events–big earrings, platinum and diamonds, and bright, bold, colorful jewelry reigned supreme. My favorite look of the night was Allison Williams wearing antique jewels from Fred Leighton. She wore a enamel and diamond brooch clasped to a ribbon bracelet, a ring and a pair of gold Etruscan style drop earrings both from the 19th century. Her jewelry complimented her gorgeous green gown.
Other outstanding jewelry looks include:
Sofia Vergara wearing over 175 carats of diamonds from Neil Lane
Kelly Osbourne wearing a gorgeous Martin Katz stunner on her black diamond painted finger
Emily VanCamp‘s awesome show-stopping diamond bow bracelet from Van Cleef & Arpels
Heidi Klum‘s large opal earrings which somehow perfectly match her dress, by Lorraine Schwartz
Leslie Mann‘s bright bold turquoise jewelry which pops against her orange-yellow dress

Heidi Klum's earrings really stole the show for me! They are beyond gorgeous and a nice change from the traditional gems you usually see on the red carpet.

Lovely. I'm totally with you on Allison Williams – these other ladies all wore lovely things, but she went the furthest out of the box for standard awards show glam. Although, as standard award's show glam goes, Heidi's earrings really are amazing, and I love Leslie Mann for rocking the colorful turquoise and orange combo.

I really liked Leslie Mann's yellow/turquoise combination. The color and size were so fresh, although I usually go with BFD (big f****** diamonds,) I fell in love with her look.

It seemed to me that the jewelry selection at the Emmys was a bit less inspired than at the Oscars – don't you agree? You made a good selection however. And I second your favorite – the vintage style looks perfect with her gown and her youth.
