Last night’s Emmy Awards were a hit, and the jewels sparkled brighter than ever. Last year’s trends were stacks of bracelets and bold antique jewels. This year followed suit, having bold stacks of bracelets of at least two on wrists as well as gorgeous antique pieces from the turn of the century on up to the 1940s. I also noticed some differences from last year. Lots of big numbers in terms of diamond carat weight this year, and more colored stones that accented the dress colors.
THE GOOD: Sofia Vergara’s bold emerald earrings from Lorraine Schwartz, mixing jewelry from different time periods, one big bold ring, Nina Dobrev’s 19th century fifty carat diamond necklace, floral jewelry, Jane Lynch’s jewels from Gem Gossip favorite Doyle & Doyle, bracelets, bracelets, bracelets!
THE BAD: Katie Holmes lack of jewelry, bare necks, all diamond looks (no other gemstones), no one layering rings (usually one ring on the right hand and one ring on the left hand), dangle pearl earrings, and no info or red carpet pictures of Drew Barrymore’s awesome earrings and bracelet

Above, funny lady Kristen Wiig wears a mix of antique bangles–one from the late 1800s, one from the 1940s and one from the 1970s. All are Fred Leighton.
Gwyneth Paltrow wore a head-turning dress and some of my favorite jewelry of the night. All are Neil Lane, and include a diamond and platinum wide bracelet (50 carats) $300,000, black diamond link bracelet set with hundreds of black diamonds in darkened gold (50 carats) $175,000, diamond black onyx and platinum cocktail ring (5 carats) $25,000, large emerald cut black diamond and platinum drop earrings (7 carats) $50,000. Her total look is worth $550,000. Wow!
Above are Sofia Vergara and her bold gold cuff from Ofira and Lorraine Schwartz emerald dangle pinky ring, Heidi Klum with Lorraine Schwartz’s bold floral leaf rings featuring fire opal and amethyst gemstones, Cat Deeley with Bulgari diamond bracelets and huge diamond ring, and Julianne Hough with a 16 carat oval cut diamond ring from Forevermark
It was interesting to see how two blush-colored dresses were accessorized with jewelry–the above photo is Jayma Mays and she chose a ring with a blush-colored diamond surrounded by diamonds from Neil Lane. The second photo is Rashida Jones who is wearing three Van Cleef & Arpels bracelets.

Hi! Is the ring shown on Gwyneth the Neil Lane one credited? It looks like her huge emerald cut diamond ring…
