Postpartum can be a whole lot of emotions, both good and bad…creative and noncreative…forward and backward…and every which way! It has taken me awhile to adjust to things since having Gino especially with the type of personality I have. I’m the kind of person that gives whatever I’m working on or doing at the moment my all, 24/7, fully enveloped in whatever that may be. And right now it is all things baby! It was surprising to me to lose interest in everything else in my life, including my main passion of jewelry. I wondered if I would ever be as jewelry-obsessed as I once was. I decided to let my mind work things out naturally and it has been so fascinating to see myself yearning to be creative and feeling passionate about jewelry all over again. Some new perspectives have been added and I’m excited to start sharing more with you all soon!
One of the first exercises I did with myself since I noticed that spark of joy reappear with jewelry was to create a fun project to work on. Color blocking has become so popular over that last few years and rainbow jewelry is just one example of this. I wanted to challenge myself to creating a rainbow on my Instagram feed through photos using each color three times. It took a lot of planning — from the backgrounds, to the nails, and which jewelry to feature in each photo…but I enjoyed every part of it. Each photo was executed in between Gino’s naps and I worked on one color per day. Hope you enjoy!
