I’m excited to get back into the auction game after taking a break from bidding due to the holidays. The upcoming Antique & Modern Jewellery sale from Fellows is the perfect auction to go for it! I’ve been looking through their catalogue and I am highly intrigued by all that is offered this month. I even noticed a few significant themes occurring in the line-up, all which I covet: Victorian star motif, piqué tortoise shell jewelry, sapphire and diamond cluster rings and floral jewelry. See these lust-worthy jewelry themes more in depth:

THEME: Victorian Star Motif
Lot 110: This late 19th century locket features that ever-elusive Victorian enamel star that I’ve been loving lately. The locket opens to reveal a photo of a man on one side and a lock of hair on the other. What a treasure!
Lot 247: Another star motif, this time on an incredible mid-Victorian bracelet. This piece is in amazing condition, with all the quintessential Victorian intricacies–cannetille and geometric details. Love it.
Lot 447: The star motif here is done in old cut diamonds in this fun 18k gold ring. The dome shape makes it unique, along with the navy blue enamel. Want this ring!
Lot 538: Star motif done in diamonds again, this time front and center on a gorgeous pair of Victorian earrings. This piece also includes another favorite motif of mine–tassels. Also loving the large carbuncle garnets. Just splendid.
THEME: Piqué Tortoise Shell Jewelry
Lot 451: Piqué is a technique where metal, like gold, is applied on top of tortoise shell. Some pieces look like works of art and I would love to own a piece in my collection. Surprisingly this auction has several pieces–like these earrings.
Lot 453: A late 19th century piqué brooch with foliate detail and geometric border. A classic and beautiful piece! It should be helpful to know the diameter on this brooch is 3.8 centimeters.
Lot 455: Another piqué tortoise shell brooch, this one very unique with an oval dangling from a bow motif. The gold is applied on top the tortoise shell and is very ornate, quite breath-taking.
Lot 460: Love the patterns on this gold piqué tortoise shell brooch. Again, round in shape with a diameter of 3.4 centimeters.
THEME: Sapphire & Diamond Cluster Rings
Lot 17: This sapphire and diamond cluster ring resembles more of a flower than the others, set in 18k gold and looking radiant. This ring is vintage, circa 1998 and features 1.20 ctw of diamonds, surrounding a lovely oval cut sapphire. So pretty!
Lot 131: This sapphire and diamond cluster ring has more of a cushion shape in general, with some bright, gorgeous stones. The diamonds total approximately 0.75 ctw. and the ring is in good condition. I love the prongs on the center sapphire, they are perfect!
Lot 436: I love the detail in this sapphire and diamond cluster ring–the sapphire is oval cut, surrounded by round brilliant cut diamonds–each set with milgrain detail on the metal. I love this detail and it makes the pieces that much more special! The total weigh of the diamonds is approximately one carat.
Lot 528: A ring worthy of royalty–this piece reminds me of Princess Diana’s ring, with a gorgeous blue sapphire surrounded by diamonds in a bold way. The diamonds total 1.75 carats and are bright white. The ring is all set in 18k gold with hallmarks from Birmingham. So stunning!
THEME: Floral Jewelry
Lot 187: A stunning floral brooch, dating to early 20th century–features diamonds, sapphires all set in silver and gold. The diamonds total nearly two carats and are various cuts, from modern to old. Such a pretty piece, I can envision it on a lapel or bag.
Lot 205: Another floral themed piece, this time a pair of earrings! These are superb–I love the combination of pearl with banded agate. The earrings actually come with a fitted, original box as they date back to late 19th century.
Lot 269: The leaves/petals on this floral diamond ring are priceless! Such a delicate and gorgeous ring, set with rose cut diamonds and in really good condition. Love the elongated style of the ring as well.
Lot 411: This floral suite featuring a collar necklace and pair of matching earrings is every modern girl’s dream. These style necklaces are currently trending and this one is over the top! Lots of diamonds and lots of sapphires. Anywhere from four-five carats is what the estimated total is–insane!!
