Love when people come up to me and say “I love what you do” that’s the best thing ever

Gem Gossip at Couture

There’s no doubt that every year, anyone who attends Couture has said something along the lines of “I swear I was just in Vegas for the show, now it is happening again!” The months in between seem to fly by, yet the anticipation never waivers. The best part for me is having valuable face-to-face conversations with the designers and jewelry industry people whom I have mostly interacted with through email and Instagram, so it is a great feeling to connect in real life. It is through these interactions that I gain a newfound love for what I do and why I continue to feel inspired and creative. Couture is like an iPhone charger if I were to be a battery that lasts an entire year…by the time Couture is about to start, I am on 2% and by the time I leave I am in the green!

Every designer has their own energy and it is really striking to be able to see that translated into their work. I can often see it and feel it when I’m looking at their jewelry. Some designers are incredibly shy and soft spoken, yet their jewelry is loud and bold. I especially love when this happens because it proves that anyone can create; let your spirit do the designing.

It was awesome seeing so many people this year in Vegas at Couture, I appreciate every chat, every smile, every hug. I wish my time wasn’t so limited because there were a lot of others I wanted to see but didn’t get to.  Hopefully next year!  And by that, I mean I should probably start planning because it will be here before we know it!

And thanks to Lauren Newman Photography for capturing all these amazing candids — it is so neat to see and keep these memories forever, and in the years past I never had help to capture moments like this, so thank you!!
