One of my favorite antique jewelry shops is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is called A.Brant + Son. I visited the store five years ago (wow, it’s been that long?!) and fell in love with everything about it. We stayed at an Airbnb down the street and had such a fun experience. I’m hoping to visit again soon, but in the meantime, I was able to have the store come to me! Β I was sent some items over a span of a couple months and photographed them. The two pieces above easily stole my heart — the ruby ring is a Victorian Era beauty featuring a natural, no heat Burma ruby that weighs 1.06 carats. I love the black enamel detailing of the setting, as well as the old cut diamonds. This ring is $10,995 and you can shop it here.
The pretty crimson enamel brooch is quite impressive not only for its immaculate guilloche but the condition of the entire piece. The moonstone ring is a major cocktail piece, with two rows of gems surrounding the center — rose cut diamonds and sapphires. Above: Have a sweet spot for anchors? These two bracelets depict this popular jewelry motif and are exceptionally special. The big anchor bracelet belongs in a museum…or your collection! You can’t see it from this photo, but the words βWHERE NO ENEMY ENTERS :: WHENCE NO FRIEND DEPARTS” completely encircles the back part. There’s also a beautiful inscription on the back which reads Β “Live for the Good of Others In Obedience To the Will of God” which is all completely hand-done. One of my most favorite rings I’ve ever gotten to photograph — this emerald and diamond ring is truly special. The emerald doesn’t look like a typical emerald; that’s because it is an intaglio. I tried photographing it in the sunlight so you could get a good glimpse of the carving. This ring has sold.
Had to shoot some necklaces and these two are simply elegant! The heart-shaped moonstones are an early Victorian piece that is completely en vogue today, over 100 years later. This one is $4,895 and you can shop it here.
The festoon necklace is also Victorian and features rose cut diamonds and pearls. It feels so great when wearing it and definitely looks beautiful. I can imagine it being worn on a wedding day. It is $13,995 and you can shop it here.
Another intaglio ring that I got to photograph, this one features three hard stones — banded agate and carnelian. Such a unique piece and sadly this one has sold too.
And finally, this trio of rings which are totally fun! The opal and triangle diamond ring is $2,195. The Victorian turquoise and diamond navette ring is $3,995. And the moonface moonstone sun ring is $1,395.
