Winter is here — and while I can’t believe how quickly the months are passing and a new year is almost upon us, I’m looking forward to the holidays. Ready to start some new traditions since this will be Gino’s first Christmas. As with any new season, I love compiling a list of current obsessions, so here they are in random order. Hope you enjoy!
— My most favorite charms and talismans have incorporated more “magical” gemstones and less gold. I noticed this recently, so I fully embraced it. I took all my gold-only charms and made a charm bracelet out of them. These are sticking around and being hung around my neck or beautifully displayed in the sun.
— Speaking of talismans, I recently had these carved amethyst face stones made into pendants and I love how they turned out! They are both available for sale, so feel free to email me to learn more details and pricing. I love wearing them with my Cleopatra style vintage necklace and rock crystal necklace. Both of those are personal collection.
— I’ve been gearing up for our annual 12 Days of Giveaways and so excited to start on December 1st. Last year I gave away over $10k worth of jewelry. This year the total has reached over $15k and we still have a couple more pieces to confirm. So so amazing — I couldn’t do this without my incredible partners/sponsors.
— Thought this post was so interesting because I talked about bad jewelry habits, like disrobing all my jewelry at my sink instead of at my jewelry cabinet. Everyone shared some of their bad jewelry habits and I was so surprised at how many people had similar stories! Other popular bad habits include working out in jewelry, spraying perfume while wearing jewelry, not properly locking up jewelry, and stashing pieces around the house only to not remember where you put them all.
— Definitely been trying to experiment more with pearls as they aren’t my favorite gemstone. As my pregnancy got closer and closer to almost ending in June, I was thinking Gino’s birthstone was definitely going to be a pearl! One way that helps me like something more is to understand it more and pearls are quite fascinating. Learning about pearls definitely makes me more interested and intrigued!
— I know I’ve talked about displaying jewelry on a table using different tiles to help you see your entire collection. Well here is another key point: use fun decorative knick knacks within your jewelry display to add dimension and texture. I have a few gold dogs and some gems/rocks. My most recent addition is this huge beetle given to me by Jenn @BellflowerBay
— Fantasy cut gemstones have been hot on my mind for awhile now and these from The Bearded Gem Cutter are high up on my wish list. I can’t possibly pick a favorite, but I guess maybe the ametrine?
— I recently teamed up with Valentine Giannone who creates these gorgeous rings using black diamonds in the shape of a skull! How cool?! The skull ring sold quickly after I posted it but the band is still available. We are able to make more also if you love it!
— I’ve been wearing lots of silk lately and this bright coral silk shirt is my current favorite. Also this ring combo has been my latest obsession. I’ve always been on the hunt for a Greek Key ring and so happy I found this eternity band.
— I took all of my loose gemstones out of their baggies and boxes and couldn’t get over how amazing they all looked together. But then I got an overwhelming feeling of “I need to do something with all these.” Loose stones always do that to me; I can never just hoard loose stones. I have to have some sort of plan for them. Idk why.
— So obsessed with turquoise and hoping to add some more turquoise pieces to my personal collection. The one furthest to the left on the bottom row was recently sold, but the rest are my personal collection. Now I’m wondering if I made the right decision by selling that ring!!
— These carved moonface babies turned out so good. I actually sold all of them so far except for the oval citrine. Hoping to make more of these before the holidays since a lot of you were bummed to have missed out on buying one.
— This gem is called a Maui Waui Topaz and belongs to Novak Gems’ personal collection. It is similar to a Mystic Topaz, which has a special coating to create the look. Sadly these stones aren’t made anymore bc the treatment to apply each of the colors is too expensive. Long live the 1980s!
