BUT I will say, the most asked question I get when I setup at trunk shows is โdo you get most of your stuff from estate sales?!โ and the answer is no! In fact, I havenโt bought a single piece of fine jewelry from an estate sale.
Most estate sale companies sell any fine jewelry privately, using their contacts of gemologists or jewelry stores theyโve been working with and built long-standing relationships with. Usually things are purchased on an โall or nothingโ basis, and given a โlot priceโ which isnโt how I like to buy things. I like to pick and choose based on a certain criteria and aesthetic.
So when I go to estate sales, Iโm typically only looking for little trinkets for my house ๐ค
