Today’s Jewelry Collection Story comes from Emily also known as @aur__else which I personally think is an incredibly clever handle. I first found Emily on TikTok when her videos lured me in for being so comforting – I love how she stacks her necklaces and charms, how she uses fun, colorful glass pieces mixed in with gold, and her overall candid approach to navigating fine jewelry from an attainable point of view. I was excited that Emily agreed to share her personal collection and now even more excited for you all to read about it:

“I’d like to think I’ve been collecting jewelry for most of my life—I still vividly remember being completely captivated by a costume engagement ring my mom bought me when I was seven years old. My love for sparkly objects has only grown stronger since then. That said, I truly started building my collection in 2019, when I landed my first “real” job and could finally invest in gold pieces. It marked the beginning of a deeper appreciation for craftsmanship and the stories behind each piece I added to my collection.”

“I wouldn’t say I collect a specific motif, but I’m drawn to good luck charms and pieces that carry historical or symbolic “good luck” meaning. Whether it’s shapes like clovers, meaningful phrases, or materials like jade and carnelian, I love jewelry that feels imbued with intention and positivity. They feel like tangible tokens of good fortune and personal connection, making them all the more special to wear and cherish.”

“Jewelry awakens a primal delight in me—perhaps a bit crass to say, but there’s a genuine, instinctive “ooh, shiny” reaction that lights me up inside. Beyond that initial spark, I’m deeply in love with the craftsmanship and artistry behind beautiful pieces. Nothing, however, stirs my heart quite like a stunning, gemmy piece of jewelry.
To me, jewelry is an externalization of perspective, a personal expression that makes every collection unique and exciting. That’s why I’m thrilled to be part of this series and to see others’ collections featured! I love learning about the stories behind each piece—why someone chose it, what it represents to them, and the meaning it holds.”

“I’m an Etsy girl ‘til I die. Nothing beats being on page 27 of my “antique solid gold locket” hunt on a Friday night. I also love discovering new brands and vintage sellers on social media.”
