My taste in rings is getting more and more eccentric, although I’d like to think of it as “unique.” Below are four different rings styles that pretty much some up the four different looks I’m after right now. See for yourself…and don’t forget to try out this “ring overloading” style.
An elongated, antique ring: this one has a pearl in the center, with two old European cut diamonds set above and below, giving the ring that highly sought after elongated look. This ring is done in platinum and is from the 20’s. Shown on 1stdibs from seller Tom Tivol Jewels, price: $9500
Art Deco, geometric inspired: the shape of this ring is incredible. It features two carats of diamonds, two different cuts (baguette and round transitional), and is all done in platinum circa 1930. From Craig Evan Small, showcased at 1stdibs, price: $16000
Oversized yellow gold, menswear inspired: this ring is circa 1960, made in France by Suzanne Belperron. The diamond is about 3/4 of a carat set in yellow gold. Featured at 1stdibs, from Symbolic & Chase, Price: $14000
So unique, you’ve never seen anything like it: this free-form ring is designed by Mauboussin circa 1965. It is interesting because this ring was featured in the book about Mauboussin on page 201. Done in platinum and set with round, baguette diamonds and a cabochon sapphire. You can find this ring on 1stdibs, under Primavera Gallery.
