I am really excited about the batch of jewelry books I ordered using some gift cards I received over the holidays. The first book that has been on my list for awhile is called Verdura: The Life and Work of a Master Jeweler. Can’t wait for it to come in the mail, I will post more about it as I’m reading. For now I’ll leave you with a few pieces of his which can be found over at Beladora. That is what I love about antique and estate jewelry–you are able to buy pieces designed by great artists from the past.
This Verdura piece has large turquoise wrapped in a 18k yellow gold feather design. There are 0.87 carats worth of diamonds added to the ring. A classic Verdura design. Price: $4450 from Beladora.
Another Verdura design is this bold sapphire ring. The domed shape of the ring mimics Oriental architecture, set with gorgeous Montana blue sapphires. Done in 18k yellow gold, with Verdura’s hallmark stamped on the inside band. Price: $4650 from Beladora.
